GLS Charity walk Llanberis Path

GLS Charity walk Llanberis Path

The most popular route to Snowdonia’s most iconic summit

The Llanberis Path is undoubtedly the most popular in the National Park. Over 600,000 people reach the summit of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) each year, and most walkers take the Llanberis Path to the peak.

As one of the six main routes (seven if you count Crib Goch) to the summit of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), the Llanberis path is a popular choice for those who are climbing Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) for the first time. While it’s the longest route, it does offer the most gradual climb to the peak.

Llanberis Path is often described as the ‘easiest route to the summit’, you should never underestimate any of the routes to the peak of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon). Reaching the summit of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) is a challenging undertaking. The Snowdonia National Park Authority classifies Llanberis Path as a hard and a strenuous route. A good level of fitness is required.

The idea is simple: you pick a route, make your £10 donation  via the “Count Me In” button and turn up… if all things go to plan as per Newton’s theory then we shall all meet at the top at the same time …or at least on the same day unless Murphy’s law prevails LOL..

Hopefully we can arrive at similar times and have a coffee if the cafe is open although we do encourage you to bring your own hot/cold drinks .

A full packing list will be emailed to you a week before the event so please make sure you can receive emails from Gift Life Saturday.

Charity: Llanberis Mountain Rescue

Our chosen charity for this month is Llanberis Mountain Rescue.

All the mountain rescue’s around the UK are run on a voluntary basis and they rely on donations from people like you and me to meet the running costs of vehicles, helicopters (generally shared) and equipment.

Most of us have watched these people in action from afar but few of us have seen them close up and personal.

The dedication and courage they display leaves us all in owr and very grateful indeed. They drop everything, leave their loved ones, put their own lives in danger to rescue those who they have never met and perhaps will never meet again.
